Second Team stay top of Division 2
The Second Team remain top of Division 2 after a 4.5-2.5 victory over Wallasey B. Early wins for Steve and Tony along with draws for Alan and Dave set us up nicely but Frank was struggling to contain his opponent in his game. Graham had an equal game but blundered away the exchange to enter a Rook and Queen v Rook and Bishop engame, while Martin was on the plus side of a similar ending in his game. Grahams opponent could not make progress and seemed happy to agree a draw and Frank lost his game which left Martin needing at least a draw to win the match. It was a slightly nervy ending as Martins opponent did all he could to run down the clock, however as the Queens came off Martin finished off in style to secure the full point and the match.
