The below game was between Napoleon I and the famous Automaton - The Turk. The automation was the brainchild of Wolfgang Von Kempelton, an Austrian mechanic and inventor who toured around the courts of Europe. The "automaton" was actually operated by a human being inside. The Turk was bought by an Amerian collector and disappeared in a museum fire in 1926. When Napoleon played the turk the German Master Allgaier was probably inside. Napoleon is reputed to have played the Turk three times, losing every time.
